Well worth the trip

This b&b is a mile off the paved road on a rugged country lane but well worth the trip. The bedroom and bath were newly built in a remodelled house. The hosts are genuinely likeable people. Breakfasts were well prepared full Irish or complete continental ones were bountiful and very tasty. Thank you for helping make our trip to Ireland so memorable. Claire

They make YOU feel special, like family

My dream was to see the Irish countryside. Well, you can’t get more country than this! Down a dirt road, past sheep dotting the rugged hills, over a little bridge, slowly forward – you must bid cattle and horses to move along so you can get by (don’t forget to close the gate) and upon the hillside overlooking the glorious hills beyond, you will find the most quaint, peaceful, and lovely home of Jan and Karen – two very special people we will never forget. They make YOU feel special, like family, and generously fill your bellies each morning with Irish breakfast and warm your hearts with their hospitality. Stay as long as you can. It will restore your soul! I am so saddened we didn’t stay longer. We missed some amazing hikes and some of their local tips. What we did get right was coming back in the evening – the conversation and music around the fireplace were more special than a night in the town pubs. This was also the perfect jump-off point to the ring of Kerry, which was also an incredible experience. We will be ever grateful to Jan and Karen!

Highly recommend this house to anyone travelling to Ireland!

Karen and Jan were very kind and easy going. They offered suggestions for the area and made you feel very welcomed in their home. There were two German guests staying one of the nights we were there who were musicans and Jan and them had a jam session in the living room which was very entertaining. We drove The Ring of Kerry and this house was convenient for that trip. Very clean and our rooms were decorated nicely. Highly recommend this house to anyone travelling to Ireland!!!

The ensuite looked brand new and was sparkling clean

We had a great stay at Karen & Jan’s BnB. Such lovely hosts who gave us tips on where to go in and around Killarney. The BnB is in a gorgeous location, surrounded by nature and perfect if you like a quiet place to stay. The ensuite looked brand new and was sparkling clean. The breakfasts (choice between Irish and continental, both recommended!) were great. All in all, we definitely recommend Karen & Jan’s bed and breakfast.

Wish we had more time here to explore

Great location, waking up in the mountains with fresh air, lots of great hikes around and make sure you go to the Ring of Kerry a short drive away! What is not to be missed, is there amazing Irish Breakfast! If anything, the visit is worth it to just have this breakfast! What an experience, they went above and beyond and even had Irish music playing for us 🙂 Great place, wish we had more time here to explore. Important to note though, if you’re allergic to cats, bring some anti-histamines. Tanya

Could not recommend a stay here more.

Had a fantastic two night stay with Jan and Karen. The B&B is perfect for a little peace and quiet up away from the busy Killarney in the mountains. Stunning views overlooking the mountains and completely outdid our expectations. Completely remote, expect an uphill drive off the main road to arrive at a beautiful yellow converted Irish farmhouse. Karen and Jan were so welcoming and friendly with two beautiful cats. Yummy breakfast and one night we ended up chatting for 5 hours over cider and wine. Could not recommend a stay here more if you have a car. Elinor.
